Open Die Databases
The databases in this section of our site (and others we intend to add) will allow you to search through thousands of “Standard Shape”, or “Open”, dies, from which we can usually supply you with mill run quantities of aluminum extrusions without your having to pay for the development of a custom extrusion die.
These lists show only a fraction of the shapes and sizes for which we have “open” dies. Although they by no means include all of our available “open” dies, they should demonstrate the levels of general availability of many of the shapes you may want. Each of the general shapes lists are pre-sorted for you in one or more ways to assist you in your quest.
Please also enquire directly to us and allow us to be of further assistance in saving you money on die costs.
Please note, however that most of the shapes indicated are NOT available in all extrudable alloys (and, usually, are available only in the most common ones, such as 6005, 6061, 6063, etc., unless they are “aircraft shapes”). Please see our Alloys and other technical pages for information on a number of extrudable alloys to determine which may be the most appropriate for your project.
Feel free to peruse these databases to find those which shapes will best serve your needs and contact us for more information and / or quotations for raw, finished, and/or fabricated extrusions and / or components meeting your needs.
Please note that, because of the thousands of shapes shown in several of the databases, some of them can take a while to download, depending on your computer configuration and network speeds.
